Solution to Fossil Fuel Depletion Problem

I don’t know why no one has thought of this simple, five step solution to the looming fossil fuel depletion problem facing the world. It’s simple, sustainable and I’m going to share it with the entire world right here, right now … for free.

  1. Gather up all plant and animal matter currently living on the earth and in the oceans.
  2. Bury it all between 7,500 and 15,000 feet underground, preferably beneath an ocean.
  3. Wait 300 to 400 million years.
  4. Drill down to it and pump it all back out of the ground.
  5. Repeat.

Follow these five simple steps and we will have a never-ending series of 150 year supplies of cheap, abundant fossil fuel.

  1. how exactly will this help the global warming problem will this solve. will this solve the co2 emmisions if we have more fossil fuel usage? Think it through of all the sides of it will help us out in the future our earth might be due for another ice age if global warming happens.

  2. Sorry, this post was an attempt to satirize the problem of fossil fuel depletion … but apparently it may have missed its mark with some. Probably not a very efficient solution, either, as the 150 year supplies of fossil fuel would be 400 million years apart!

  3. to lina,

Fossil fuel depletion and climate change are two, though interelated different challanges.

For mr Rob Mahan’s solution a higher level of CO2 will actually be beneficial. Plant live in a CO2 rich environment will be more abundant therefor higher yields can be achieved.
